FLORA PURIM SINGS MILTON NASCIMENTO is a sultry and enticing album featuring many of Nascimento’s most evocative songs hand-selected by Purim. Together with guest performances by George Duke, Airto Moreira, and many others, Purim’s performance is a brilliant tribute to one of her long-time friends, collaborators, and inspirations.
"I’d like to call this album The Two Of Us, because Milton has been and will always be a very big part of my life story. After going through literally hundreds of songs, either written or sung by him, and with the help of arranger/keyboardist Luiz Avellar, I selected the songs that make up this record. The song
Nós Dois, which means ‘the two of us’, was co-written by Milton and Luiz Avellar and has a special guitar appearance by George Duke on piano and synthesizer.
This album is not a tribute to Milton, but a declaration of unconditional love."
