Named after his favorite B-movie from the
1950s, ROBOT MONSTER encapsulates where 2-time U.S. National Fingerstyle
champion Don Ross has taken his music and life in the past 2 years.
Recovering from the loss of his wife while trying to keep it together
for his kids, Don wrote songs that are groove-based, high-energy, and
very rhythmic - as he comments, "the music is in your face, take no
prisoners. It got my creative mojo working again." Taking the music on
tour to Europe and throughout his native Canada, Ross received the exact
response he had hoped for from his young, music-digging audience - a
laugh or two with a "right-on" nod.
