Meet some of the artists featured on TABU ~ Tomatito Tomatito is more than just one of the foremost modern-day flamenco performers – he has Flamenco in his bloodlines and carries with him its deep-rooted traditions. Raised on flamenco the way most are raised on food and water, Tomatito watched his father, grandfather, and uncle – all Andalusian traditionalists – turn sparks to flame using nothing more than a guitar and passion. A masterful Spanish guitarist, Encinas is able to create a moving combination of flamenco, classical, new age, ambient, and world music. Young & Rollins When Dan Young and Lawson Rollins met in a flamenco guitar shop in Washington, D.C., they struck up an immediate rapport. They began writing original compositions drawing upon salsa, blues, Latin jazz, flamenco - even classical and reggae - all with a heavy dose of improvisational flair and keen attention to melody.
